The Lycoming Engine Service School training program includes the construction, theory of operation, and servicing of Lycoming reciprocating engines. It also covers the inspection, servicing, and troubleshooting of the related components. Designed to assist maintenance professionals in maintaining Lycoming engines, the training hours in the program can be used for qualification for the IA renewal program FAR 65.93 (a)(4). This four-day, 28-hour program is a prerequisite for the Disassembly/Reassembly training program. Cost for 2018 Piston Engine Service School course is $1,050.

This hands-on training program is conducted for three consecutive weekdays and is usually scheduled to immediately follow the Lycoming Engines Service School. Training class size consists of two-person teams, each working on a 4-cylinder Lycoming engine, learning proper procedures for engine disassembly and reassembly. To qualify for this program, participants must have completed the Lycoming Engines Service School within the past seven years. Upon completion of this course, the hours can be used for qualification for the IA renewal program FAR 65.93(a)(4). Cost for 2018 Disassembly/Reassembly course is $1,025.
