Jim Wright
Jim Wright is the senior vice president of Lycoming Engines, the only U.S.-owned and operated aviation piston engine manufacturer. In this role, Wright is responsible for the strategic direction of Lycoming Engines, inclusive of its aviation product portfolio development, experimental and certified designs, its manufacturing core competencies, and customer services. He also serves as a member of the Textron Systems Executive Leadership Team.
Before Wright joined Lycoming Engines, he was the vice president of CWC Textron where he was responsible for the general management of this intricate foundry business out in Muskegon, Michigan that specialized in iron castings.
In all of Jim’s roles, he has been actively engaged with local communities while serving on multiple boards that further strengthened the economic opportunities or protected industries from detrimental practices. He also encourages partnership collaboration with investments within local and state entities to further strengthen community ties and opportunities.
He is a consistent driver of operational improvements while continuing to bolster safety and adherence to quality standards. His relentless pursuit of excellence has transformed organizations and strengthened partnerships at both the business and customer levels.
Jim holds a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is a Textron Six-Sigma alumnus, and a graduate of Textron’s Executive Leadership Program at the University of North Carolina.
