Within 10 hours of engine operation or at the next maintenance event, whichever occurs first.

Periodically aircraft engine starters are returned to Lycoming Engines as inoperative. Further research has shown that some of the returned starters have failed by overheating. Overheating is usually induced by an excessive duration of time used for the starting attempt (commonly referred to as a “crank”) and an excessive number of starting attempts which are not within a designated time period (commonly referred to as a “duty cycle”.)

All Lycoming reciprocating engines using P/N 15B26066 except: O-235 series; O-320-H series; O, LO, TO, LTO-360-E series; and TIO, TIGO-541 series.
Any time new P/N 15B26066, hydraulic tappet plunger assemblies, are installed.
Whenever a new plunger assembly is installed, perform the following steps to ensure that the plunger does not stick in the collapsed position.
